The history of the Veritech Building
The name ''Driver'' is very well known in Griffith.
Horace Driver and his wife Amelia, along with their four sons came from England in the 1850's originally settling on farms in Maldon and Ballarat in Victoria.
In the 1880's, Albert Driver and his brothers arrived in Griffith.
Albert Driver selected a property which he named ''The Cliffs'' situated on the Southern Slopes between Scenic Hill and Beelbangera. This area has become one of the largest residential areas in Griffith and the subdivision is named ''Driver'' after this pioneer family.
In 1898, his brother Alfred and his wife Mary Ellen settled on a farm they named ''Invermay'', block 1656 Pilloni Road in Yoogali. The home that Alfred and Mary Ellen built at ''Invermay'' still stands and has undergone some renovations by previous owners.
Today, this is the home of Veritech.
Veritech has kept most of the ''Invermay'' homestead in original condition with classic décor that is unlike many offices.
This beautiful piece of land and office space is definitely a talking point when our clients visit.
